you see, if i ever perceived someone as "needy" or "insecure" i would never go in and do all the talking.
i would really honestly try and go in and listen and wonder and try to put this "neediness" and "insecurity" into context, where does this person come from and what do they feel?
i don't think there's anything wrong with telling a person up front what it is that is bothering them or makes them uncomfortable or worried or concerned or whatever, but to see a person as just that one thing is not recognizing them as ... a real person. i don't think.
everyone comes from different experiences and different ways of being brought up, we really don't have a right to judge someone as a single thing..as a "slut" or a "bitch" or "insecure" or whatever. because often times, there's a reason.

and if we could just listen. instead of judging and talking and talking. then maybe we'd figure out what that reason is.

I think what we really need to do is be with people. in the moment, in whatever it is that they are going through and try not to change that. we need to be there for people so that when they're ready (or even if they never are) we're there for them no matter what. you know. so many times we're caught up with giving people advice and telling them how irrational and dumb they are for feeling a certain way or dealing with things a certain way. when what we really need to do is just listen and be with them. because we are all just doing our best and dealing with the things the best we can with whatever it is we have at the moment.
