i'm selfish
i buy presents and i immediately think about my bank account
i get a really nice message from a boy who looks a little chubby in his photos and i wonder if i could really ever love him
sure, i'm "aware of my thoughts" as my cute yoga teacher likes to say as i'm suffering through another inhumane "stretch."
" you are only labelling it as suffering. you are nothing but the observer of your thoughts! "
its true.
i know.
but damn are these thoughts so awful sometimes.
oh wait, i'm judging my thoughts.. we can't do that either
so what, we're just supposed to "breathe" through it all. accept it as is it is and watch it float away like everything else in this world.
thoughts are not who you are. they are something you have, like a pimple or opinion. they are nothing but fleeting objects of our consciousness but because we choose to focus all our attention on them we identify with it, and we believe with all our soul that we are what we think and feel.
we are not
we are simply beings experiencing human life. if we can simply witness our thoughts..then who the hell is that witness? that's who we really are.
