i borrowed this book from the library about how "young women pursue sex, delay love, and lose at both"
it kind of pains me to read it because it hits so close to home and my life. and i guess in some respects its nice to know that i am not the only smart, seemingly confident, beautiful woman out there giving her body to random men. either because it makes her feel loved for a moment or because in some convoluted way makes her feel that she is contributing somewhat to the feminist notion of equality. that women too can enjoy sex without the commitment and the intimacy and the love as men can.

but that doesn't stop women from hoping that these "hook ups" will somehow lead to something more fulfilling and something that does lead to actual dates and phone calls and i guess...marriage.

argh.

learned about borderline personality disorder today. i loved it. its super fascinating. and i could easily, EASILY be one with those characteristics (attachment and abandonment issues *ahem)

also did some music therapy for the patients at the ward i want to work in the future. i asked one of the nurses there if they did preceptorships and she mentioned that some of the nurses are willing to take on students!!! yay.
i really hope it works out.
the population there is incredibly complex ( a lot of them look like they have addictions along with their mental illness). its really does strike a chord in my heart and i am going to do whatever it takes to continue strumming.
